Communications Report from the 2012 AGM:
The OGLCC switched to a Business Page from a Facebook Group earlier this year and we are at 188 fans. We currently have 686 followers on Twitter.
We have close to 400 people on our mailing list and we’re aiming to boost that to 500 by the end of 2013. We have been sending out email newsletters and event reminders on a regular basis and have seen success with these.
We’ve brought Jess Bowman on board who has been instrumental in posting more events on Facebook. She has some great ideas for kickstarting our social media and getting our members more engaged.
We are updating our current website and investigating options to launch a new website later in 2013. We are also planning on more regular updates to our website and streamlining the process for listing events – Chamber events, member events and partner events.
Going forward this year we are planning on implementing a drip email campaign to show new members the different benefits available. We are also planning on sending shorter emails highlighting both member benefits and upcoming events.
One of our goals for 2013 is to increase the level of awareness of the OGLCC through regular releases to mainstream media about initiatives and events as well as through partnerships with other organizations.
