President's Message November 2011

RTAs the OGLCC board, staff and volunteers are busy preparing for the 2012 launch of our programming, I am delighted to announce the inaugural edition of the OGLCC Annual Stakeholder Survey.    In order to serve our community and members better, the Chamber has put together a brief survey to solicit your input on our programming, desired membership benefits, and collect general demographics on our stakeholders.     Open until the end of November, survey responses can be submitted anonymously and are completely confidential.    Please take a few moments to complete the survey - it should take no more than 5 minutes!

I’d also like to take the opportunity to announce some people changes at the Chamber.  Over the course of the last few months, we have had several departures from OGLCC’s Board of Directors.  Please join me in thanking Brad Van BarneveldJohn Colautti, and Donna Verge for their contributions while on the board.  I would like to particularly express my gratitude for the communications expertise and passion that Lisa Chang has provided the board.  After 3 years as a volunteer for the Chamber, Lisa has resigned from the board and we wish her well in all of her future endeavours.

While we are always looking for members to join us on the board, we have decided to focus our immediate recruiting efforts to the committee level.  We are delighted to welcome Karie Johnston to the Membership Committee and Shirley Sokes Yoon to the Programs & Events committee.   Please contact our office if you would like to consider volunteering on one of OGLCC’s committees a few hours per month

Yours Truly,

Ryan Tollofson

OGLCC Poll

Over the past few month, at every other Open Minds Open Doors events, the first hour was reserved for women only. Recently it was suggested that we offer the first half hour of every OMOD for women only. Are you in favour of this?
